THE ARTISAN PROCESS & DESIGN
- Wheel-Thrown & Rim-Modified: Individually shaped by hand on the potter's wheel, then the rim is cut and modified for an organic edge before trimming.
- Slip-Transfer Tree Design: While the clay is still very wet, a light green slip is transferred onto the pot using newsprint paper, then layers of white slip are strategically transferred on top to build up the tree design.
- Antiqued Exterior & Matte Teal Interior: After the initial firing, a dark wash is applied to the outside for an antiqued appearance, while a matte teal glaze is applied to the inside for a vibrant pop of color.
- Firing & Hand-Sanded Finish: The plate is fired a second and final time, then the exterior is wet-sanded by hand for a super smooth, luxurious feel.
