THE ARTISAN PROCESS & DESIGN
- Wheel-thrown & rim-modified: Individually shaped on the potter's wheel, then the rim is cut and modified by hand for an organic edge before trimming.
- Slip-transfer design: While the clay is still wet, layers of white slip are transferred using newsprint paper, building up a textured pattern by hand.
- Antiqued exterior & shino glazed interior: A dark wash is applied to the outside after the first firing for an antiqued look, while a shino glaze brings warmth and depth inside.
- Firing & hand-sanded finish: Fired a second and final time, then wet-sanded by hand for a smooth, luxurious feel.
Made by hand in small batches in my Denver studio — no AI, no mass production, just one potter shaping every piece.
