My process:
I use the potter's wheel to create this vase. I generally make the vase one day and then trim the bottom the next day. I let it dry completely and then paint blue plumflowers and a trailing vine on it. I have been painting this design since I returned to pottery more than 12 years ago. It's been fun and interesting to see it evolve into its present rendition. This version has blue flowers, black outlines, large flower buds, and mesmerizing royal blue dots that creates visually appealing empty spaces. A clear glaze finishes the vase on the outside and a coordinating blue glaze is on the inside. Made from high fire grolleg porcelain and fired in an electric oxidation kiln.
