~~~ My Process & Design ~~~
I use the potter's wheel to create this mug. I make the mug one day and then trim the bottom foot the next day and attach its handle then. I let it dry completely and then paint blue plumflowers and a trailing vine on it.
Recently I have modified this design and changed the vine from green to black and added bigger flower buds. The simplification of the colors really makes the design pop. I started this design over 12 years ago. It's been fun and interesting to see it evolve into its present rendition.
A clear glaze finishes the cup the outside and a wonderful deep blue glaze on the inside compliments the blue flowers on the outside. Made from high fire grolleg porcelain and fired in an electric oxidation kiln.
