Hand painted plumflower tea bowl with blue plumflowers. I also love this for a large sake cup (the kind of large sake cup that holds a few sips ... )
Tapers in at the waist so it cradles your nicely finger as you hold it.
- apx. 2 1/2 inches tall and 2 3/4 inches wide at the rim
- holds 5 oz
~ Clear glaze
~ Food, dishwasher, and microwave safe
~ Porcelain clay
I use the potter's wheel to create this tea bowl. I generally make the tea bowl one day and trim the bottom foot the next day. I then let it dry completely and then paint blue plumflowers and a trailing vine on it. I have been painting this design since I returned to pottery about 12 years ago. It's been fun and interesting to see it evolve into its present rendition. A clear glaze finishes the cup, inside and out and is fired in an electric oxidation kiln.
