Tea Bowl in Umbre Red Cherry Blossom

My process:
I use the potter's wheel to create this tumbler. I generally make the form one day and trim the bottom foot the next day. I then let it dry completely and then I apply a combination of red and white underglaze to the outside for an umbre effect. This gives me a vibrant canvas to paint cherry blossoms on. I've been on a long two year journey with this design to get the cherry blossoms perfected. A clear glaze finishes the tea bowl on the outside and a white glaze on the inside. It is fired in an electric oxidation kiln.
