Then while it is still very wet, I apply a light green slip to newsprint paper that is transferred on to the pot. Then I strategically transfer on white slip and layers of it to create the trees. After it comes out of the first firing, I apply a black wash for an antiquing appearance to the outside of the mug and a matte teal glaze to the inside.
