I make the bottom and the lid the same day, then trim the next and hope they fit perfectly (seriously...).  I let it dry completely and then paint blue plumflowers and a trailing vine on it. Recently I have modified this design and changed the vine from green to black and added bigger flower buds. The simplification of the colors really makes the design pop. I started this design over 12 years ago. It's been fun and interesting to see it evolve into its present rendition. A clear glaze finishes the jar the inside and outside.
