Hand painted plumflower Mug with blue plumflowers.
I use the potter's wheel to create this mug. I generally make the body of the mug one day, trim the bottom foot the next day, and attach the handle. I then let it dry completely and then paint blue plumflowers and a trailing vine on it. I have been painting this design since I returned to pottery about 12 years ago. It's been fun and interesting to see it evolve into its present rendition. A clear glaze finishes the mug, on the outside and a coordinating blue glaze is on the inside. Fired in an electric oxidation kiln.
