My process:
I use the potter's wheel to create this cup. I generally make the cup one day and trim the bottom foot the next day and attach the handle. After letting the handle set up and dry a day or so slowly, I clean up around the handle and make sure the cup is smooth all around. I then let it dry completely and then paint blue plumflowers and a trailing vine on it. I have been painting this design since I returned to pottery about 12 years ago. It's been fun and interesting to see it evolve into its present rendition. A clear glaze finishes the cup, inside and out and is fired in an electric oxidation kiln.
