Slip trailed porcelain yunomi with cherry blossom pattern
*** sale, the celadon was not as deep in color as I would have liked, and turned out a light blue.
I make this yunomi on the potter's wheel. After it has been trimmed I create a grid using food coloring that burns out in the firing. The grid allows me to add the slip trail design in a precise pattern. After it has been fired once, I apply a darker blue glaze on each of the flower's center dots. Yunomi is finished with a translucent blue celadon glaze and fired in an electric oxidation kiln.
